Downtown Kid Friendly Eats: Acadiana

Recently my husband and I had plans to go to Acadiana for dinner, but we were unable to get a babysitter.  We decided to risk brining our 2 year old out with us and changed our reservation to a 5:30 one – the earliest they had.  Rather than go somewhere else, I used the excuse that I would review for the website.

Hours:

I was a little nervous when I arrived, because there was not a crayon, balloon or crying child in sight.  The hostess took our coats and stroller (we walked over) and spent time playing with my daughter while they set up our table.  We arrived to the table to find the knives and glasses were already moved from my 2 year olds reach – and the highchair was in place.  (I had requested it on opentable when I made my reservation).  There was also a box of crayons, a toy, and kids menu!

We ordered as we usually would and got her the chicken off the kids menu.  I have to say, her chicken was AMAZING.  I have to admit, we probably ate more of her chicken then she did.

The service was slow and leisurely, as you would expect in a good restaurant, and my child got tired as the night moved on.  However, our waiter was fantastic and kept clearing things and bringing things for her to “play” with.

I never would have thought of Acadiana as “kid friendly” but after our visit, we will definitely be bringing our daughter back.
